LEGACY WINDOWS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACROBAT DC

To install LegalExhibitStickers for any version of Adobe Acrobat DC:
  1. Close all open Adobe Acrobat windows.

  2. Simply copy the four downloaded PDFs to the following location:

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Stamps

    Note: The easiest way to navigate to this folder is to simply paste the path into the search box of the taskbar and press Enter.

  3. If you will be using the speed marking feature discussed on the Home page, open Adobe Acrobat, go to Edit / Preferences / General (Category on the left) and then check the first box at the top of the page that says "Use single-key accelerators to access tools."  You will likely have to reposition the popup window and scroll down to the bottom of the page to click OK  to apply the changes before closing the Preferences window.

  4. LEGACY DETAILED WINDOWS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

LegalExhibitStickers.com utilizes the custom stamp feature in Adobe Acrobat.  Each version of Acrobat Acrobat (Professional, Standard, or Reader) installed on a computer has a separate storage location for stamps. The custom stamp PDFs must be pasted into the stamps folder for each version of Adobe Acrobat with which you want to use the custom stamps.

Detailed instructions for Windows-based computers:
  1. After completing your purchase, you will be presented with a link to download a ZIP file (e.g., Legal-Exhibit-Stickers-v.1.0.zip) containing your new stamps.  Download this to your computer and note the location to which you have saved it.
  2. Open the location where you saved the zip file, right click the Legal-Exhibit-Stickers-v.1.0.zip file, and select Extract All..., making sure to leave the "Show extracted files when complete" checkbox marked.
  3. You will be presented with a File Explorer window with the following four PDFs and some text files.  Keep this open, as you will need to use it in a later step.



  4. Highlight and copy the following path to your clipboard using Ctrl + C:

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat

  5. Type ⊞ Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  6. Paste the path you copied into the Run dialog box using Ctrl + V



  7. Click OK.  Note: If this destination is not available, you very likely have not yet installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or some other version of Adobe Acrobat.  Installing Adobe Acrobat is a prerequisite.
  8. You will now see a subfolder for each version of Adobe Acrobat installed. If there is just one version of Adobe Acrobat installed, you will only see one subfolder for that version.  If, for instance, you only have Acrobat Reader DC or an Acrobat DC subscription, there will just be a folder named DC.  I you have a non-subscription version of Acrobat DC, you will just see a folder named 2015.  You may also see a number of folders labeled 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, etc. if you have old versions of Acrobat installed or, more likely, you have previously installed another stamps product which automatically created these folders.

         

  9. Double click the subfolder(s) for the Adobe Acrobat version number for which you wish to utilize the custom stamps.  For the current versions of Acrobat, these would be the DC folder and/or 2015 folder.  You need not do this for the folders labeled 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, etc., unless you are still using one of these old versions of Acrobat, which is unlikely.
  10. When opening the DC and/or 2015 folders, if a "Stamps" folder already exists, double click it to open it.  However, if there is no "Stamps" folder and you see a list of other folders similar to the following, create a Stamps folder by right clicking in the white space and selecting New > Folder, and name it "Stamps".



  11. Double click the Stamps folder and keep it open, as you will need to use it in a later step.


  12. Switch to File Explorer window you left open from Step 3.



  13. Highlight all of the files in this folder by typing Ctrl + A.  You will see more text files than are shown below.


  14. Copy the highlighted files to your clipboard by typing Ctrl + C.
  15. Switch to "Stamps" folder that you opened in Step 11, which you should still have open, and paste the contents of your clipboard into this folder by typing Ctrl + V.
  16. You should now see the following PDFs in the file as well as some additional text files.


  17. If more than one version of Adobe Acrobat is installed, and you wish to use the stamps in the other Acrobat versions, repeat the necessary steps to paste the custom stamps in the "Stamps" folder(s) for the other Adobe Acrobat version(s)—i.e., in the other folders you saw in step 7.
  18. Install any necessary updates to Acrobat by going to Help > Check for Updates...
  19. Shut down and restart Adobe Acrobat.  If you do not see the stamps, restart your computer.
